Last night, I attended my clients house warming party in the Lake Katherine area of Columbia. I LOVE this area and I loved working with my client during her transaction. I always feel honored to get invited to client house warming parties. Why you might ask? It's just a party, right? Well, it is ALWAYS a party and last night wasn't any let down.
I feel a sense of accomplishment and pride knowing they are celebrating this HUGE life event with all their closest friends/family and actually thought enough to extend an invitation to little ole me. It just makes my heart happy because lets be honest, real estate isn't rocket science and it isn't required we attend years on years of schooling to become a Realtor. Sometimes appreciation for our profession is taken for granted. A lot of our work to get a transaction closed is behind the scenes which a client never sees, so how could they know? So, when an invitation to the party comes, and you recognize that address, it goes a long way in my book. It's a further sign of appreciation and a reason to pop some bubbles! After all, as cliche as it might sound, I wouldn't be typing this if it wasn't for my clients. Thank you, folks!
It's Sunday, March 16th. If you have been around Columbia for more than a hot second, you are well aware of the HUGE annual St.Pat's party in Five Points the Saturday of St. Patrick's. Just in case you need a reminder (click here) - you're welcome. Needless to say, around 40,000 people from all over make their way down to 5ptns to celebrate wearing their green and drinking some green adult beverage. It's a fun time and even though it's a crowd, you usually end up running into people you haven't seen for months/years. It was beautiful weather, sun out, and 70s - attributing to the 1st sunburn of the year.
This morning is a different story. It's cold and rainy. A much needed day of rest for all the party go-ers to recoup. It's pleasantly quiet around town with the remnants of green slowly being washed away. I guess we have entered into Spring with a hot Summer soon to follow. To us Realtors, Spring brings us joy. We made it through this crazy, cold, snowy/icy Winter and the flowers will soon be in full bloom. A fresh reminder of the kick-off to "Real Estate Season". Like they say, Spring showers bring April flowers. Welcome to Columbia, Spring. You have been missed.
